You Don’t Need Many Professionals to Feel Confident Online
Visual from Giorgia Riola Web Designer & Business & Brand Strategist in Basel, Switzerland
Do you ever feel like building your online presence has turned into a team project? A brand strategist for your message, a designer for your logo, a developer for your website… maybe even a coach to help you use it all.
And suddenly, what should feel exciting turns into something chaotic and expensive.
But here’s the truth: You don’t need four different professionals to finally feel confident online.
When strategy, branding, and website design come together under one roof, everything becomes easier, more coherent, and more you.
The Problem: Too Many Voices, Not Enough Clarity
Working with multiple professionals can be great — but it often leads to:
Different opinions and overlapping ideas
A brand that feels inconsistent across platforms
Lost time (and budget) coordinating everyone
A website that looks nice but doesn’t really convert
Most freelancers and small business owners I meet don’t need more people on their team — they need one clear, strategic process that connects all the dots.
The Solution: A Strategic, All-in-One Approach
That’s where I come in.
I bring together brand clarity, visual identity, website design, and 1:1 coaching — all under one process designed to save you time, energy, and confusion.
Here’s how it works:
By looking at your online presence as a whole — from your message to your visuals to your website — we build a strong foundation where every element supports your business goals.
And here’s why it matters:
✨ Less chaos: no more juggling between designers, developers, and strategists.
✨ More coherence: your brand looks and feels consistent everywhere.
✨ More strategy: every choice has a purpose — not just aesthetics.
✨ Less cost & time wasted: one process, one vision, one clear direction.
This approach helps you create not just a website, but a system that grows with you — one that’s easy to manage, beautiful to use, and deeply aligned with your business strategy.
Are You a DIY-er? Follow My Process
If you’re building your brand or website on your own, you can still apply the same strategic thinking I use in my full projects.
Here’s a step-by-step roadmap to help you create a cohesive, confident online presence — even if you’re doing it yourself.
1) Strategy: Start With the Big Picture
Before you open Canva or Squarespace, take time to define:
What problem do you solve?
Who exactly are you helping?
What transformation do you offer?
Write it down — this becomes your strategic foundation. Every color, word, and design choice should connect back to this.
2) Distill Your Brand Compass
I call this your brand compass — a short document that keeps you aligned.
It includes:
Your mission & vision
Core values
Target audience
Key messaging pillars
It’s the map you’ll come back to whenever you’re unsure how to communicate or design something.
3) Visual Identity: Create Consistency Everywhere
Pick a small, intentional set of elements and stick to them:
2–3 main colors
1 Heading Font – 1 Body font (if you want 1 more font for accents, like a Script or Display)
Logo (and a simple text version) with variations for dark and light mode and vertical vs horizontal layout
Image style (soft, bright, bold, etc.)
Use them consistently across your website, social media, and client documents. Consistency builds trust more than any trendy rebrand ever could.
4) Tone of Voice: Write Like You Speak to Your Clients
Your words matter as much as your visuals. Ask yourself:
Do I sound approachable or formal?
Do I use “we” or “I”?
What emotions do I want my audience to feel?
Keep your tone natural, clear, and empathetic — the way you’d explain your work over coffee.
5) Navigation, CTAs & Funnel
Structure your website like a guided journey:
Clear main navigation (no clutter)
Each page has one purpose
CTAs that tell people exactly what to do next: Book a call, Read more, Get in touch
Think of it as leading your visitors step by step toward connection or conversion.
6) Cohesive Content: Social Media + Website
Your website and your social channels should tell the same story.
Use similar visuals and tone
Share snippets from your site as social posts
Link back to your website often — that’s your home base
When every piece of content feels aligned, you appear more professional, trustworthy, and clear.
If you’d like a little more guidance, my Website Blueprint Kit walks you through the same strategic process I use with clients, so you can plan your website with clarity and confidence.
Why My Background Matters
Before becoming a web designer, I worked in engineering and business strategy and that changes everything about how I approach branding and websites.
Engineering taught me to think in systems: every small element has to connect and work together for the big picture to succeed.
Strategy taught me to always start with the why: to design solutions that make sense for your business, not just your visuals.
Today, I combine that analytical mindset with human-centered creativity — so your brand doesn’t just look good; it works strategically.
